Living in a touristy destination, the upside is that there are plenty of wonderful hotels, fincas and Airbnbs to stay at, and we wanted to list our absolute favourite ones for the family in both the midrange and premium segments!
Midrange
Sunwing Alcudia
Scandinavian family-focused hotel with activities for kids of all ages, regular appearances from the mascots Lollo & Bernie and located right on the beach! In high season, this hotel is unbookable as it is reserved for charter travellers, but in the spring and autumn, it’s possible to visit and book your stay via booking.com or hotels.com
Iberostar Waves Pinos Park & Iberostar Waves Alcúdia Park
Both Iberostar hotels are great family-friendly hotels, with activities, kids clubs and special pools with slides for the little ones. The mini disco is also scheduled before dinner and finishes just in time for the buffet to open, which makes for a very easy and drama-free evening. Depending on where on the island you want to explore, we wanted to recommend both of these gems.
Blau Colònia Sant Jordi
Wonderful year-round hotel on the southeast coast! This hotel offers spa services and a heated pool available for the whole family, which is wonderful when the temperature is still climbing! They have, of course, a kids club, family bikes available for rent and several tennis courts on the grounds.
Premium
IKOS
Premium “full everything you need service”! Activities for all ages, kids club, and even dinner service for the little ones. Wonderful outdoor and sports activities at a spectacular location. This hotels have managed to create a perfect balance between luxury and accessibility, it has thought of everything for the family, with even a special pureé menu for the tiniest of guests. And the food in general is top-tier.
Four Seasons
Plenty of excursions and fun activities for the kids, like the Four Seasons everywhere in the world, the facilities are beautiful, and the location is stunning. Located on the northeast tip of the island, it also feels reclusive and calm. You can also book an exclusive family lunch if you just want to visit during the day, and while you relax, the kids can enjoy activities in the clubhouse. The hotel has direct access to the beach and a boating dock.
Jumeriah
This place is all about the views and the food. Although we have not stayed at this hotel, the food and the surroundings are beautiful! A child-friendly atmosphere and multiple pools and restaurants to choose from, this place can entertain the whole family for hours on end. Close to Port de Soller for beaching, strolling, and hiking!
FINCAS
Staying in an agriturismo place away from the classic tourist hotels can be a special treat for the family!
Finca Hotel Amapola is a refined countryside resort that offers chic quarters and a serene atmosphere suitable for families. Some of the accommodations even include private pools, which can provide a great deal of convenience and privacy with children.
S’Hort de Can Capità provides a more laid-back and unassuming environment, making it an excellent choice for a relaxed family farm stay. The property features an outdoor pool and extensive gardens where children can play and explore.
Finca Binibona Parc Natural is an upscale rural accommodation that caters well to active families. In addition to a swimming pool, it features a tennis court and on-site dining, allowing for plenty of activities without needing to leave the grounds.
Ca’n Bessol is a modest farm stay that offers both rooms and apartments, which is particularly beneficial for families who prefer the flexibility of a communal kitchen. This agroturismo property emphasises a relaxed lifestyle with an outdoor pool and a friendly atmosphere.
Finca Son Oms. Like the other fincas, it offers a distinct sense of place away from the busier coastal resorts, allowing families to enjoy the quieter side of Mallorca. The property maintains a strong hospitality, ensuring a memorable stay for visitors of all sizes.
